Pandora Pine (Author Interview)
Interview with Pandora Pine

Please tell us a little about yourself, the romance subgenre(s) in which you write, and your newest book.
I am a 40-something customer service representative by day and live in Massachusetts.
Aside from writing, my passion is nature photography. My favorite thing to shoot is fall in New England. I love the foliage and the bright colored pumpkins and apple trees bursting with fruit.
I started writing MM romance after reading Star Trek fanfiction featuring Captain Kirk and Doctor McCoy. I had wanted to write all my life and finally realized it was time to stop wanting and start doing.
My latest book, Just Say Yes, is the story of Caleb Gregson who has never been turned down by a potential lover until he meets his sexy new neighbor, Wyatt Jacobs. At first all Caleb cares about is restoring his perfect record, but as time goes on he focuses less on sex and more on getting to know Wyatt.
What inspired you to write romance fiction?
Writing was always something I wanted to do. I was the kid in school who was excited to get book reports or creative writing assignments. Once I graduated from college with my English degree, I no longer had a reason to write. It wasn’t until I started reading Star Trek fanfiction did I realize how wrong I was. I would read stories and think, “I can do that,” and so I did.
Tell us about your favorite hero from one of your stories. What do you love about him?
My favorite hero is Caleb Gregson from Just Say Yes. When we meet Caleb he’s cocky and self assured, assuming any lover is his for the taking. Wyatt turning him down starts Caleb’s journey toward becoming a better man.
He doesn’t think he’s relationship material but proves himself wrong with every thoughtful thing he does for Wyatt. I love heroes who learn things they never knew about themselves as the story progresses.
What’s your favorite part of writing?
My favorite part of the process is going from a name scribbled in my notebook to a living breathing hero. He goes from being one-dimensional on paper into three-dimensional in my imagination. By the time a book is complete he has become a forever friend and a member of my family. It is always hard saying goodbye when a story ends, but the exciting part is that now the process starts from scratch again.
What stories do you have in the works right now?
In Educating Easton, Naval Lieutenant Easton Bellamy propositions ship’s doctor, Noah Treadway to be his sex tutor. Noah agrees to instruct the younger man but isn’t prepared when he develops feelings for Easton. This book will be available in October 2015!
Out Of Time, is a three book time-travel series involving the mystical Three Jewels of Ireland. In Time And Time Again, Carter McCann travels back to medieval Ireland in hopes of preventing the death of warrior Fionn Ò Ciardha.
In Time and Space, a freshly jilted Cadence McCann takes Carter up on his offer to come back to Moone Castle. She accepts, but never counted on meeting gruff warrior Donnall.
Time After Time, will feature McCann foster sister Bree, whom village healer Islyn recognizes as her soulmate from past lives.
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse and their fictional black kitten, Jack.
She is forever grateful to her writer friends who brainstorm with her and help her corral all her plot tribbles. They can also be relied upon to delete her eclectic internet browsing history in the event of her sudden death. Said browsing history is filled with erotic research (Read: porn!) for her next novel.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
ER doctor Wyatt Jacobs moves to San Francisco to escape the pain of his mother’s death. He doesn’t think he’ll ever feel at home in California, twenty-five hundred miles from his beloved Georgia, but he hasn’t met his handsome but cocky neighbor yet.
Contractor Caleb Gregson is all about one-night stands and keeping his perfect record of satisfied lovers intact. He isn’t prepared for Wyatt, whose resistance to his charms makes him rethink everything he thought he knew about his life.
Caleb starts wooing his reluctant neighbor in hopes of getting Wyatt to sleep with him and restore his perfect record. As time goes on, however, he wants Wyatt to Just Say Yes to an entirely different question.
Caleb stepped back toward his new neighbor, and reached out to shake his proffered hand. The moment his palm slid against Wyatt’s, a bolt of desire shot through his body. He felt a tingle start in his fingers and slowly spread through his entire body as Wyatt’s warm hand continued to shake his. His cock began to stir to life. Caleb cleared his throat, “Pleasure to meet you, Wyatt. You know, since I’m going to spend the morning inside, I was thinking of heading back to bed, you know catch up on some sleep,” Caleb dropped a sexy wink and used his thumb to caress the outside of Wyatt’s hand, “You should join me.”
Wyatt felt a zing of something; desire or lust slam through his body when Caleb gripped his hand. He bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing at Caleb’s cocky come on, no pun intended. With his brilliant blue eyes, sandy blonde hair and all those bulging muscles, Caleb must get more ass than a public restroom. It didn’t mean Wyatt intended to be another notch on Caleb’s obviously oversexed bedpost. He simply raised an eyebrow at Caleb and remained silent.
“Just say yes,” Caleb challenged.
Wyatt did laugh this time. “You’re gonna have to do better than that.” He smiled brilliantly at Caleb’s shocked face, stuck his hands in his pockets and headed back to his house.
Caleb stood stunned as he watched Wyatt walk toward his back door. Had he just been turned down flat? No one, man or woman, ever turned him down. He was the one breaking hearts and shattering egos not the other way around. He was still watching when Wyatt tripped on the loose bottom step of his side deck. Someone should fix it before the doctor hurt himself, especially with the late hours he kept.
Caleb’s sour mood turned hopeful, realizing he was just the man for the job. If he played his cards right, he might have a chance at keeping his perfect record intact. He started to whistle as he headed back into the house.
